Seeking to Provide Care for Dementia Patients
ABOUT ME
Mission Statement:
I am a Texas State University Senior with a degree in Applied Sociology. I am transitioning to the Graduate School in the Fall of 2017. My goal is to graduate with a Master's of Science in Dementia and Aging Studies. I plan to be a dementia patient advocate in long-term care facilities.
I am a proud Texas State Bobcat in San Marcos, Texas. My goals for the future are to finish my Master's of Science in Dementia and Aging Studies. I want to be an advocate for patients as well as caregivers in the long-term care facilities.
I am a firm believer in care over treatment for Dementia patients. I hope to help family members learn how to care for their loved ones.
The elder community is now larger in population than our teenage community in the United States. It is very important to me that these younger generations learn how to care for their elders who are diagnosed with Dementia. This condition is 'a disability with abilities.'
